@ Bungy. I joined the Dev in Aug 73'. We sailed for Gib and a short jaunt around the med (Toulon I think) before getting back to Pompey for xmas. I think, cos I have the same dodgy memory as you! :-(

Subject: New site
Question/Comment:

Hi guys,
great to see the website up and running again! My dad served on the Dev
71/72, it was his last ship. Someone has posted a pic with him in it,
it's in the Lads section, page 6 middle of the bottom row, does anyone
know where this photo came from? I have a few photos of dad from his
navy days, most of them are early, a few group pics, mostly from
Raleigh, HMS Victorious and HMS Daring but if anyone wants copies I am
more than happy to share, maybe I have a photo of someones dad, brother
etc that they have never seen as someone has of my dad which turned up
on your site. My dad was Stuart "Polly" Perkins and he was a steward.
Anyway, great site, it's so nice that people like you set up these
websites, I hope it continues to grow and grow!
Best regards
Andy Perkins

HMS Leopard
WRIGHT G. Ord. This was my father, his name was Grahame. He told me of his adventure to Tristan de Cunah and of the two dogs but to read the story from leaving port to docking has made my year. My father died when I was 13, so to be able to find out more about his past is amazing. I thankyou very very much.
